Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Field test engineer to oversee and manage the testing operations of our new products, tools integration, data gathering, analysis, and insight collection. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing methodologies, data analysis, and project management, along with the ability to work in a team and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the highest quality standards are met.
Your Responsibilities:
New Product Testing: Lead the testing efforts for new products, working closely with product development teams to define testing requirements, develop test plans, execute tests, and ensure the overall quality of the products before release.
New Tools Integration and Training: Collaborate with the technology and operations teams to integrate new tools and processes. Develop training materials and conduct training sessions to ensure the team is proficient in using these tools effectively.
Prototype Data Gathering and Analysis: Coordinate the collection of data from prototype testing phases. Utilize analytical tools and techniques to extract valuable insights from the collected data, providing valuable input to inform product development and enhancement strategies.
Field Insight Collection: Establish mechanisms to gather insights and feedback from the field, including customers, drivers, and operational teams. Synthesize this information and work with relevant stakeholders to drive improvements and enhancements.
Quality Assurance Management: Define and implement quality assurance processes and standards for testing operations. Monitor and assess testing performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product owners, development teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on testing priorities, timelines, and strategies. Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams to ensure clear communication and smooth execution.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in testing and quality assurance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the testing operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of testing processes, methodologies, and results. Ensure that all testing activities are well-documented and easily accessible for reference.
Qualities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in software testing, quality assurance, and data analysis, with a strong track record of successful project delivery.
- Experience working with vehicles, including a good working knowledge of vehicle systems and safe operating practices is desirable.
- Proficiency in testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
- Experience working with electric vehicles and/or commercial vehicles and in vehicle testing would be very desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract meaningful insights from complex data sets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies is a plus.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in quality assurance and testing.
