Finance & Accounting Intern

Responsibilities 

Accounting
Mode of Execution: In collaboration with the accountant, cashier, and program finance officer
  • Verify, organize, and file invoices for payment and prepare disbursement vouchers
  • Stamp invoices with “PAID” before they are entered into VISION+
  • Scan and save supporting accounting documents recorded in VISION+
  • Participate in entering accounting records into VISION+ and in the monthly closing process
  • Physically file accounting documents
  • Assist in bank and cash account reconciliation
  • Support the Buco cash register when necessary

 

Finances (40%)
Mode of Execution: In collaboration with the finance offcer and the deputy CFPA
  • Participate in partner-risk assessments (PRA)
  • Analyze financial and audit reports of partners and prepare FCIs
  • Assist in financial planning updates and contract monitoring
  • Attend SCI review meetings
  • Familiarize oneself with the SAP concepts
  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the global budget

 

Other Tasks (10%) 

Any other permanent or occasional tasks related to the intern’s competencies (including logistical support)

Professional Qualifications 
  • Hold a higher education degree in management economics with solid accounting knowledge, or equivalent training/skills
  • Strong spoken and written English skills
  • Strong spoken and written French skills is an advantage
  • Good computer skills, particularly in management and accounting software
  • In-depth knowledge of financial management and accounting
  • Experience in financial auditing
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet deadlines
