Site Project Coordinators

SOUK Farms is one of the largest growers and exporters of fresh horticultural produce from Rwanda—the land of a thousand hills.

We export a variety of fruits and vegetables across Europe and the Middle East, while also serving consumers in our local market.

We work with over 1,200 farmers across Rwanda, with farming operations spanning 200 hectares of land. Of the total hectarage, we operate 130 hectares as our own farm. SOUK Farms one of the leading horticultural exporters in Rwanda.

Role focus:

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to join our team as a Site Project Coordinator. As the Site Project Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the farm. You will be responsible for coordinating and
executing various tasks related to farm operations, project planning, resource management, and team coordination. The ideal candidate will have an excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Your primary objective is to ensure that we meet our production targets whilst working within the planned budget
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all activities related to the farm, ensuring timely and efficient execution
  • Manage and monitor the daily operations of the farm, including planting, harvesting, irrigation, pest control, and maintenance of farm equipment
  • Proactively identify risks and implement the prevention measures to ensure that hindrances are timely mitigated
  • Planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling the efficient and effective utilization of the resources to ensure that all operations are being operated within the budget
  • Prepare and present detailed site reports to the supervisor and management
  • Keep up to date with agronomic practices by attend company sponsored workshops and seminars to gain and maintain agronomic knowledge

 

Required Qualification: 

  • Proven experience in project coordination is a must
  • Experience in an agricultural setting is a plus
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced skills Diploma in Management, Leadership, Food Processing, Horticulture, Agriculture or an equivalent combination of education

  • Having at least 2 years of hands-on field experience
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, such as Microsoft Excel, and Word
  • Demonstrate leadership skills, problem-solving skills, supervisory skills, strategic planning skills, Time Management Skills, Cost Management Skills, and Proactiveness in the operations implementation
