China Railway Construction Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CRCEG) is a leading global construction and engineering company, specializing in infrastructure, urban development, and large-scale engineering projects. As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainable development, we are executing a Centralized Sewerage System Project aimed at improving urban sanitation and environmental standards.
About the Project:
The Kigali Centralized Sewerage System Project is a critical urban infrastructure initiative aimed at improving public health, environmental sustainability, and wastewater management in Rwanda’s capital. The project includes the construction of wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and an extensive sewerage network.
Position Overview:
CRCEG is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Wastewater Treatment Process Engineer to lead and oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of biological, chemical, and physical treatment processes for the Kigali Centralized Sewerage System Project. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant operation of wastewater treatment systems, from design through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design systems that safely treat wastewater by removing harmful substances and returning clean water to the environment.
- Develop technical specifications for pumping and lifting systems that transport wastewater to treatment plants.
- Define and optimize specifications for the flow and treatment process throughout the system.
- Collaborate with contractors and government agencies during the construction of new treatment systems.
- Ensure all systems comply with relevant building codes, environmental standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualification & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Sanitary Engineering or Environmental Engineering (required).
- Minimum of 14 years of experience in wastewater treatment as an engineer.
- Proven track record of managing at least 12 projects related to wastewater treatment and sewer networks.
Key Terms and Benefits
- Start Date: August 1st, 2025
- Salary: USD 3,000 (net)
- Contract Period: 6 months
- Accommodation: Company-provided for the first 3–7 days for individuals relocating to Rwanda
- Annual Leave: Two weeks paid annual vacation after six months of service; round-trip airfare to home country provided by the company
- Probation Period: 1–3 months, depending on the role
- Visa Support: The company will assist with and cover the cost of the work visa
- Transportation: Work-related vehicles will be provided
