The project started in December 2021 and will be implemented for a period of two (2) years until December 2023. This Initiative builds upon the results of the diaspora Mapping Exercise conducted in Canada and the USA. In close collaboration with Rwanda Development Board and the International Organisation for Migration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MINAFFET) coordinated the mapping exercise in these two countries through the high commissions to identify priority sectors in which Rwandans residing in these countries poses skills and qualifications and it is based on these findings that this project will be focusing on the financial sector.

Experts with experience in the following fields are also encouraged to apply;
- Business management and customer experiences mainly related to diaspora banking services
- Digital transformation for financial institutions such as MFI, Insurance companies and banks
Required qualifications, experience and competences:
Rwanda Finance Limited (RFL) will consider Rwandan financial experts, residing in Canada and the USA to participate in the Diaspora Engagement project in the finance sector, with the following qualifications, experience, and competencies:
- Must have a master’s degree in his/her area of intervention with at least 5 years of experience or / bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of experience
- Ability to coach/ teach/train staff in the different financial institutions and share best practices, methods and quality assurance in practice in line with their respective areas of expertise
- Good understanding of the financial sector
- Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork spirit
- Respect for the experience and expertise of colleagues working in Rwanda
- Willingness to live in Rwanda for at least one month as a volunteer under this project
- International development experience
- English, French or Kinyarwanda language skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
